Hi all, new guy here

I stumbled apon this site from looking for info on exactly what I need to do to switch from points to HEI ignition for my 1967 Chevelle. It has been so long since I did anything like that I can't remember how/where to wire it up haha. I think all it takes is one 12 volt sorce from the fuse block. Thats what I remember anyway. The HEI only has 2 places to hook anything up. A place for BAT and one for TACH.. The only car I have done that to is my other 1967 ford custom 500 (Andy Griffith car)...That intailed a bit more than my Chevelle will from what I remember. But i'm not going to touch that part of it untill I know for SURE I can get it right the first time and I dont need anymore than the HEI distributer itself and what is on and in it. I was hoping also that maybe I can use one of the existing wires from the coil that is on it now instead of running a new one.
Any help would be great! I know it's easy, I just don't remember lol, and I havent found anywhere on the net that would show me how and where to either yet. Hoping to be able to do it this coming weekend. I am also installing a new edelbrock airgap manifold and a holley 650 cfm carb. Hope they wont be to much for the little 283 that is in it. I got a good deal on those.. Getting rid of the stock carb and manifold. They have seen better days heh...The Chevelle only has 61,000 original miles on it and was kept in a garage all it's life (untill I got it

). No room for a garage where I am at the momment. I got the car from an old woman that my mother knew before she passed away( The old woman, not my mother thank God). Only paid 2500 for the car. I was WAY happy. Deals like that are sooo very rare. I was not going to pass that up. I would had kicked myself if I did.
Well anyway, I only have one picture up so far. I will add more as soon as I take some. Will this weekend while I am working on it.
